We have tested with scientific method the ground3X on a climb, for checking the effective advandage without the influence of other factors. We used home trainers with power meter and remote control from tablet. The bike has been tilted of a 30% angle for simulating a very steep climb.
5’ STABILIZATION WITH STANDARD SEAT: after an initial warm up phase, the athlete reached 92 rpm with a constant power of 250W, and he kept these values for 5’ for heart rate stabilization.
3’ TEST WITH STANDARD SEAT: the first test of recording lasted for 3 minutes, without any change.
5’ OF RECOVERY: for reducing heart rate and take a breath
5’ STABILIZATION WITH FORWARD SEAT: after an initial warm up phase, the athlete reached 92 rpm with a constant power of 250W, and he kept these values for 5’ for heart rate stabilization.
3’ TEST WITH FORWARD SEAT: also the second test of recording lasted for 3 minutes, without any change.
RESULTS: with forward position, the average heart rate was reduced by 2,5%, from 153 bpm to 149.3. The athlete effectively had less fatigue for keeping the same power and rpm, while feeling also less pain due to a more comfortable seat. This test has been replicated a second time, and we got the same result, so we can conclude that with a repeatable and scientific test we can demonstrate that ground3X can reduce the heart rate on very steep climbs.
